Direct Replacement LED Lamps
A genuine alternative to incandescent, halogen and compact fluorescent lamps
The next generation of home lighting has arrived, using intensely bright LEDs as a light source instead of either traditional tungsten filaments or hazardous compact fluorescent tubes. The latest LED lamps have been designed to provide a real alternative to traditional incandescent lamps with superb light quality, 100% instant-on illumination, very low power consumption and extremely long service life.
With the phasing out of traditional incandescent light bulbs now underway, many consumers have found the compact fluorescent alternatives to be unsatisfactory, being slow to reach full brightness and having poor light quality. Some consumers have even complained of health issues surrounding compact fluorescent lamps.

Using the latest super-bright LEDs as a low energy light source instead of the much maligned compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) has many advantages:

Cost effective
At first glance the cost of this new lamp technology may seem high, but these lamps are engineered to outlast compact fluorescent lamps many times over. Although the service life of CFLs is often stated as 6-7 years, in real-world use even good quality CFLs may have either failed from frequent switching or their light output faded to unacceptably low levels after only a couple of years service. This means that in normal use, a single LED lamp could replace as many as ten good quality compact fluorescent lamps, costing as much as £5 each or even £10 each for MegaMan branded R80 downlighter spotlights.
Save energy and money
With a power consumption as low as half that of equivalent CFLs and one tenth of traditional incandescent lamps, LED is the natural energy saving successor to the traditional incandescent lamp. LED lamps are available in a wide range of styles and sizes as direct replacements for most traditional incandescent and halogen lights throughout the home, including GU10 and MR16 spotlights often found in kitchens and track lighting systems.

This DIMMABLE LED light bulb can be dimmed with an ordinary dimmer switch and is designed to replace standard light bulbs used throughout the home with a light output approximately equivalent to a 50-60w incandescent (GLS) lamp. The bulb uses 5 x CREE 1w P2 chips and is very warm white. The diffuser cap is designed to provide a reasonably wide dispersal of the available light. We find that this lamp is suited very well to uplighting applications including standard lamps and table lamps. In a pendant fitting, the majority of the light output is naturally cast downwards. This Warm White dimmable lamp has a standard bayonet base cap found in most UK light fittings.

The DesignoLux range of lamps from EarthLED have been designed to closely resemble the external appearance of traditional GLS lamps for use in applications where the lamp itself is likely to be visible, making them easier on the eye. The NX8 lamp uses an 8 watt Sharp LED light engine and creates a light output equivalent to a regular 40-45w bulb, having a neutral white light colour. These lamps are suitable for general lighting use and we have found in our own tests that despite the light output from these NX8's being well dispersed, they appear brighter than the stated lumen output might suggest.

This DIMMABLE LED light bulb can be dimmed with an ordinary dimmer switch and is designed to replace standard light bulbs used throughout the home with a light output approximately equivalent to a 50-60w incandescent (GLS) lamp. The bulb uses 5 x CREE 1w P2 chips and is very warm white. The diffuser cap is designed to provide a reasonably wide dispersal of the available light. We find that this lamp is suited very well to uplighting applications including standard lamps and table lamps. In a pendant fitting, the majority of the light output is naturally cast downwards. This Warm White dimmable lamp has a standard bayonet base cap found in most UK light fittings.
