Efergy ups its game!

We had very few criticisms of the original Efergy. It offered features way in advance of the competition and it's memory function was easily both the most intuitive and useful when compared to other brands. However, the one area in which it let itself down was build quality. We're pleased to report that the new Efery Elite has wiped away all our doubts about the Efergy brand with this fantastic new model.

The Elite feels solid to handle and accurately assembled with clean, smooth lines, tactile buttons and a crisp, clear display.

Efergy 'evolved'

Despite this all new design being completely different in appearance, the Efergy Elite carries with it every single positive aspect of the original model, with significant improvements in many areas. For example, in our transmission range tests we found that the new Elite is capable of receiving data from the transmitter through three nine inch walls, a test where some other brands fail. The Efergy's strongest point has always been its superior memory function. The Elite has the same memory capability showing energy use by day, week, month, year and now adds an at-a-glance daily average in kWh or £'s, plus a bar indicator for today's and yesterday's total consumption. This new average data is always on display, making it easier to keep tabs on your day to day energy saving efforts, thus helping you to reduce consumption.

Economy 7 supplies are now catered for in the Elite, with a dual tariff mode which allows you to set a different rate per kWh during the off-peak (night time) period. Please note that as with all wireless energy monitors currently offering Economy 7 compatibility, this feature is suitable for use with 'white meter' supplies but not the older style dual circuit installations where two rates are charged simultaneously overnight.

The Elite runs on a set of six AA cell batteries (not supplied) which according to the manufacturer should lead to significantly improved battery life over the outgoing original eOne model.

Efergy Elite's a winner

The Efergy Elite may not be the cheapest wireless energy monitor on the market, but it's not exactly the most expensive either. We believe that the enhanced capabilities of this new model combined with excellent build quality, ease of use and good looks make it worthy of serious consideration.
