This sturdy, well-built plug-in power monitor is a popular choice and has been receiving favourable reviews from 'techie' buyers for a few years now. Although it has no battery backup, this monitor wins frequent praise for its ability to accurately measure, display and record the power consumption of devices which operate on very low power, a task which some other monitors can struggle with. The monitor itself draws only 1 watt in use.
It's a no-nonsense design with the plug socket sensibly situated below the display, making it easy to read whilst still plugged in. Unlike other similar monitors, this one doesn't offer a built-in facility to display or record 'Cost', although because it measures and totals power consumed over time you can still calculate the total cost manually if required. We get the impression that the confirmed accuracy of this monitor attracts the more technically minded buyer, who is less likely to be worried about the omission of a 'Cost' display function anyway.
In conclusion, if accuracy is your primary concern and you just want to check exactly how many watts any given device is consuming either instantaneously or over time, this is the one to go for.
