How long is the rental period?
The initial rental period is 30 days from the date it is delivered to you.
What if there is a delay in delivery of the Energy Monitor to me?
We rent the Energy Monitor to you for a period of 30 days, which is more than enough time to adopt new practices and reduce your electricity wastage. If the unit is delivered to you and the required return date is less than 30 days ahead, we provide a facility for you to report the actual delivery date to us so that we can amend the return date accordingly. In practice, it is extremely unlikely that the return date will be less than 30 days ahead because we factor-in plenty of time for delivery.
Can I rent the Energy Monitor for longer than 30 days?
The rental agreement will continue monthly until you return the Energy Monitor to us.
Are batteries included?
We do not include batteries with the rental option.
How do I return the Energy Monitor at the end of the rental period?
The Energy Monitor is posted to you complete with return packaging. Please unpack it carefully when you receive it and retain all of the packaging materials for return posting. We request that you use Royal Mail Recorded Delivery to return the Energy Monitor. A pre-addressed mailing pouch and Recorded Delivery slip are included for your convenience. For your peace of mind, the return date is deemed to be the date of posting, not the date we receive the unit back.
What if I decide that I would like to keep the Energy Monitor?
We believe that after using the Energy Monitor for a few days, you will have taken all of the measures you can to reduce waste of electricity in your home. After 30 days, you should have adjusted your habits accordingly and so continued use of the Energy Monitor will be superfluous. However, if you would prefer to keep the Energy Monitor instead of returning it, you have the option to purchase at a discounted price of £29.99 (Efergy) £24.99 (Owl/Electrisave) at any time during the rental period.
What happens if I do not return the rented Energy Monitor?
After the initial 30 day period has ended, the rental agreement continues at the agreed rate per calendar month or any part of a month, payable in advance . Should the Energy Monitor you have rented not be returned, your payment card will be debited for each subsequent month's rental until it is returned. If you intend to purchase the unit you have been renting, we advise that you do so before expiry of the initial rental period to avoid additional rental costs.
What if I break/damage/lose the Energy Monitor I am renting?
It is your responsibility to take reasonable care of the Energy Monitor and its packaging materials while they are in your possession. In the event that the equipment is not returned in clean and usable condition with its complete and original packaging, the rental will be converted to a purchase, the goods will be returned to you and your payment card will be debited accordingly.
What if I have a two/three phase supply?
Although the Energy Monitor is compatible with multi-phase electricity supply circuits by the connection of additional sensors, we do not provide support for this facility on a rental basis.
